Welcome to Prayer Time Heir Mail.

Here is your healthy serving of goodness, fit for an heir. [Intro Email 01 of 05]

Welcome to your introductory issue of Prayer Time Heir Mail.

It is just for you who attend Prayer Time—the Wednesday meeting hosted by Neil (Nilaksha) Fernando, at Emerio Design.

In these next few emails, we’re going to show you around the new Prayer Time eco-system. You’ll get the next message tomorrow, followed by the remaining three each day thereafter.

By reading these five intro Heir Mail messages, you will be up to speed on the resources available to you.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

What’s this all about?

Carl here. Our gracious host, Neil, has shared with Angela and me over the years his desire for some kind of central location for the meaningful resource that is Prayer Time.

So—after much brainstorming, prayer, and layered work behind the scenes—Angela and I are now unveiling this next-level eco-system that we’ve built for Prayer Time, further spreading its tendrils of love, truth, and inspiration.

We seek to strengthen the already profound influence of Prayer Time since its inception through Neil and Pastor Addy, starting in the year of our Lord 2007.

Part of that eco-system’s form comes into view, right here:

(There’s a hearty portion of meaning in the word “Heir,” and foundational symbolism in the design and colours of the logo above. We can unpack ‘em some other time.)

Alright, now what?

Well firstly, you’re reading this Heir Mail message (obviously!) It comes to you via the succinct PrayerTime.cc domain.

Clicking that link will bring you to the website we’ve designed and carefully put together. It will be the center of gravity online for this much-loved gathering.

You’re welcome to reply to this message, by the way. Here’s the email address for Prayer Time:

And here’s the email address from which these Heir Mail newsletters will arrive:

Add both of them to your address book, so that future emails from Prayer Time will show up in your inbox.

How did we get your email address?

Our own Chad Williams confidentially provided it to Angela and me. It’s from the most up-to-date list he has of those who have been participating in the weekly Prayer Time gathering at Emerio Design.

Or, you signed up directly and provided it to us.

In either case, your email address is kept safe and secure, we promise.

➔ If, for some reason, you do not wish to receive Prayer Time Heir Mail, just hit the Unsubscribe link at the bottom.

But, we hope you’ll stick around. We think you’ll like what we have in store for you.

What can you expect going forward?

Beyond these five introductory messages, you’ll be receiving a Prayer Time Heir Mail newsletter each Monday.

In it, you’ll get information and any relevant links from the most recent Prayer Time gathering.

You’ll also get a heads-up regarding which person will be bringin’ the Word at our next Wednesday meeting.

As well, you’ll get the link to join the Prayer Time gathering online. However, please do join us in-person at 12:00 pm Pacific Time at Emerio Design if you are able!

A New Way to Be Human

(Bonus points if you get that late ’90s pop culture reference.)

In addition to this newsletter you’re reading, Angela and I have created another pathway for us all to take in the rich nature of our weekly Prayer Time gatherings.

If you like to listen to good stuff while you’re on a walk or driving along, we’ve got a little somethin’ for ya.

Say “hello” to the all-new Prayer Time Heir Waves podcast:

The URL above grants you direct access to all Prayer Time Heir Waves episodes as we move forward.

Each episode comes complete with helpful show notes, descriptive embedded chapter markers, and links to any additional resources discussed. These elements bring even more value to the podcast, allowing you to better study and absorb the material.

Got a preferred podcast app? We’ve got you covered.

Subscribe in your app of choice, so you’ll get future episodes delivered automatically. (Notice I didn’t use the annoying “auto-magically” adverb. That one is no bueno, amigos.)

“Fluent in over six million forms of communication”

(Additional bonus points if you know who said it first. Hint: his name rhymes with the abbreviation for Preferred Provider Organization.)

We’re excited to also include a transcript with every episode of Prayer Time Heir Waves. A game-changer for the hearing-impaired, transcripts make it possible to read through the substance of our meetings. You can even search for specific words or passages from an episode, for in-depth reflection.

Depending on how you take in the podcast, these transcripts will appear in different places:

  1. At the heirwaves.prayertime.cc URL above, just click on the “Transcript” tab and read along while you listen.

  2. In each episode’s show notes, there’s a link to view and/or download a text file of the transcript.

  3. If you sport an iPhone or iPad, Apple updated their Podcast app so that transcripts move on-screen in time with the audio.

Nota bene, these transcripts are generated using machine learning (ML). They may contain typos, misspellings, omissions, and misheard words. Court stenographer levels of accuracy are not currently within reach. However, these transcripts do bring new possibilities of engagement.

They are well worth your attention and usage.

“But wait. There’s more!”

(Couldn’t resist. Who coined that saying, for yet more bonus points?)

There will be further details about this new Prayer Time eco-system in tomorrow’s email. Today, we are stoked to share about this Heir Mail newsletter and the Heir Waves podcast that we’ve designed for you.

With love,

Carl + Angela Nicolson

P.S. Reply to this email with your answers (guesses?) to earn those bonus points referenced above. There may be a prize for you….

P.P.S. Good job: you’re one of those thorough people, who read the whole email. Salute.
